Lion’s Law / Stars & Stripes – Heritage 7″

The still quite young LION’S LAW from Paris meet the old masters STARS AND STRIPES from Boston. Musically – and you can hear that – without a doubt the cream of the crop(s) of the scene. The Americans, and that’s no longer a secret, are none other than the Oi! Variant of SLAPSHOT with the distinctive vocals of Jack „Choke“ Kelly. For years the hits of the not entirely uncontroversial „Shaved For Battle“ LP have been part of the live program and for some time now the appearances as STARS AND STRIPES have been increasing again, always performed with the band’s very own wink. STARS AND STRIPES muddle their way through LION’S LAW’s „Knock ‚Em Out“ and follow up with a new song, „Lion’s Law“. The „Sons Of Oi!“ from Paris repaint STARS AND STRIPES smash hit „The Power and the Glory“ and top it off with the eponymous track „Heritage“.
It is absolutely puzzling to me how one can shake anger and aggression so melodically out of one’s sleeve like the French do again and again.
